About
My name is Vahid Jahanbani, a self-taught
Hair Realism Artist based in Tehran,
Iran. For more than a decade, I have dedicated
my practice to creating handcrafted wigs,
beards, and facial hair for film and
character creation. Through close observation, continuous
experimentation, and meticulous
craftsmanship, I strive to recreate the
subtle qualities that make human hair feel
authentic. Every piece is
handcrafted in my personal studio with the
pursuit of the highest level of realism, supporting
makeup artists in bringing believable
characters to life.
Method
The Process
Step 1
Digital Mold Making
By receiving a 3D scan file, we create a mold that precisely matches the actor’s original head and facial form, allowing the work to be carried out with maximum dimensional accuracy.
Step 2
Scalp Mapping
Each region of the scalp is mapped based on hair density, growth direction, emergence angle, and the natural curl and wave pattern of the hair, allowing its natural structure to be accurately reconstructed.
Step 3
Hair Structure
Hair structure is analyzed based on the physical and geometric characteristics of the hair strands to select the most suitable hair for reconstruction.
Step 4
Hand Ventilation
Each hair is individually hand-ventilated according to the mapped structure, direction, density, and angle of emergence.
Step 6
Final Styling
The finished hair is styled and refined according to the defined shape, direction, and natural hair pattern.
